NCAA vs. NBA 3 Point Line
In this video, my brother Mark aka MFA, goes through the difference between the NCAA 3 point line and the NBA 3 point line. The NCAA 3 point line is shorter than the NBA 3 point line and is 20 feet 9 inches all the way around in a half circle. While the NBA 3 point line has a circular arc shape but also a straight length at the corners which are shorter. The top of the arc is 23 feet 9 inches while the shortest length is at the corner and is 22 feet long. The reason that the NBA 3 point line is not fully circular is that it used to be the same length as the NCAA 3 point before being extended due to players getting better and better. Since the width of the court remained the same the NBA 3 point line had implemented an arc design with straight corners to still fit in the width of the court. This video comes just in time for the big championship NCAA game tomorrow between Duke and Wisconsin and it should be a great game!
