111th Attack Wing hosts career fair

The Pennsylvania Air National Guard’s 111th Attack Wing career fair at Biddle Air National Guard Base, Horsham, Pa Opportunities in the Air Guard include professional careers in aviation, construction, engineering as well as management careers for prospects who are interested in completing college and obtaining a commission. Attendees learned how they can receive paid technical training for careers in the Air Guard. Many Air Force technical training courses also award undergraduate college credit. Some Air Force training courses also offer professional certificates that can be used in civilian careers. Students had the opportunity to explore traditional careers in aviation operations as well as aircraft maintenance. The unit also has occupations in support activities like logistics and supply. Other available careers include jobs in finance, construction, computer and telephone networking, cyber security as well as culinary skills, firefighting and base security along with dozens of others. Traditional careers in the National Guard allow members to attend training primarily on training weekends plus two weeks each year while also attending college or working full time at a civilian job. Benefits for students who are National Guard members include 100% state tuition assistance to Iowa’s universities and community colleges. Tuition assistance can also be used to offset tuition at Iowa private colleges.
