THE WICKED RIGHTEOUS: EXODUS is a 6-issue limited series and a follow-up to the excellent THE WICKED RIGHTEOUS. The entire creative team is back for the sequel, led by writer Terry Mayo and artist Lucas Romero. The stand-out attribute of THE WICKED RIGHTEOUS was the characterization by Terry Mayo and if you’re into series that flesh out their characters the right way the original 6-issue series is a must read.
Artist Lucas Romero and color artist Christopher Hall utilize the newsprint format to its maximum. Romero’s mix of anime inspired charter style and Western page formats and layouts is very enjoyable to read. Romero has grown noticeably as an artist from the first series. The characters designs by Lucas Romero are very unique and his facial expressions are top notch.
At its core, THE WICKED RIGHTEOUS: EXODUS is about devotion and love of family in a world gone mad. The standout feature of THE WICKED RIGHTEOUS was the character work from writer Terry Mayo. EXODUS is no exception and Mayo puts great effort into fleshing out the current situation and brother’s Johnny, Matt, Lucas, and Mark, whom the series revolves.
Lucas Goodspeed and his family have made it out of San Diego and are journeying through the wastelands of Southern California. But trouble follows close behind and the group discovers that the grass isn't always greener... even in Orange County. Continuing after the first story arc, this issues offers a great jumping-on point!
