Commander Ian Fleming RNVR was a Commando.

Fleming was a combat veteran of the 1940 evacuation of France, Dieppe in 1942 and 2 dangerous missions to Nazi Germany in 1945 (OPJB Rescuing Martin Bormann/Hitler and Capturing the Kriegsmarine HQ Records). These are the missions we know about.

A graduate of Camp-X commando and spy school in Canada, Fleming wouldn't have been asked by Colonel "Big Bill" Donovan to write the blueprint for the American Office of Strategic Services (OSS) if he were just an office bureaucrat.
