Enemy helicopters = 100 mph fast rope thugs down to British tanker; fait accompli' *
Royal Navy TIN CAN ships = 30 mph slowly approach 3-4 days away; arrive too late
Had the RN surface ship had a Royal Marine Commando Quick Reaction Force (QRF) in a 400+ mph SEAPLANE launched from it by turn-table catapult or sea water launch, the IRANIAN THUGS could have been PREVENTED from taking over the British oil tanker.
www.combatreform.org/seaplanefighters.htm
If the seaplane was a TILT-WING, it could have taken off DRY from the stern flight deck and airLANDED the Green Berets ditectly onto the threatened tanker. Otherwise, the seaplane could have high-speed taxied in the water as its own Small, Fast Boat (SFB) and trained missiles/cannon onto the Iranians to stop them.

Also notice, the HMS Duncan TIN CAN lacks its own armed SFBs and even an UAV to get close to the Iranian oil platform turned into a spy base BECAUSE ITS TRYING TO DO EVERY TASK USING ITS TOO-LARGE, BLUE WATER OCEAN-sized self.
"There seems to be something wrong with our bloody ships today," --Admiral Beatty, Battle of Jutland 1916
Can the U.K. build a ship or submarine that doesn't leak or catch fire [next SPARK Reality TV episode]? Are U.K. workers too pub-minded to make high quality things?
The pretty RN officer gal constantly whining about missing home--are there ANY military females whose head is in the game of war?
I've yet to see one.
I hope the female A-10 pilots have at least a passing interest in war details. Maybe not.
