Today I had the good fortune and pleasure of speaking with Nadine Strossen, emerita John Marshall Harlan II Professor at New York Law School, and first woman national President of the ACLU from 1991-2008. We discussed her excellent, important, and increasingly relevant book, "Hate: Why We Should Resist It with Free Speech, Not Censorship," available here on Amazon (affiliate link):

We discussed the nature of "hate speech" and what's at stake in addressing it correctly, why hate speech laws are wrong, both from a moral/legal principle standpoint, and practically, if our goal is to, as she says, *resist* it. And we discussed at some length the application of her advice to social media and the larger platforms' attempts to curate content over the last several years.
