Turandot: Act 3 ‘Nessun dorma’ by Giacomo Puccini

Puccini begin composition of the opera ‘Turandot’ sometime 1923, but died before in 1924 before the opera was completed. Italian composer Franco Alfano completed the opera in 1926, with the premiere performance being given in April 1926 at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. The opera is based on the content of the 1762 play ‘Turandot’ by Count Carlo Gozzi.

The aria ‘Nessun dorma’ is performed towards the end of act three of the opera.
