A wonderful example provided to us by a very wise man - John Hertwig who has spent considerable time and effort to recall precedents in law as well as handle himself so calmly in what would be quite a confrontational situation for many - the flashing lights have been programmed to elicit an instant stress response (there’s a lot of psychology behind all of this).
