Mozart completed this concerto for violin and orchestra in 1775 at the age of 19. Mozart was concertmaster for the Salzberg orchestra at the time, serving under Prince-Archbishop Hieronymus Colloredo. This concerto, as well as the other four Mozart would compose, were most likely written with the intent to be performed by the Salzberg orchestra.

This concerto is comprised of three movements:
I. Allegro 00:00
II. Adagio 08:18
III. Rondeau: Allegro 14:51
