The next time you see a disturbed stranger out on the street, just remember that was someone's son or daughter. A little kindness can go a long way. Obviously protect yourself at all times though, however! How might have Bobby Fischer played the variation that was the end of his life differently had he been treated differently when he was younger? We will never know...
When he was young he was known as "The Corduroy Killer" because he would show up to his local chess club wearing the same exact clothes... and merc people at the chessboard! Even young he displayed a ferocious will to win.
In today's game we look at an early effort of his versus Attilio Di Camillo in a Ruy Lopez opening. This game was played in the Eastern Open back in 1956... My primary source for this episode was "Bobby Fischer: Rediscovered" an excellent book by GM Andrew Soltis. I can wholeheartedly recommend this book to one and all!
