euthanasia (yo͞oˌthə-nāˈzhə, -zhē-ə) noun
The act or practice of ending the life of an individual suffering from a terminal illness or an incurable condition, as by lethal injection or the suspension of extraordinary medical treatment.
I denounce that Clark County, NV and many other areas use the euphamism "euthanasia" to cover how many completely healthy and re-homable animals they kill. Being unwanted by some jackhole is not a "terminal illness." Many beautiful, healthy animals are MURDERED for no reason other than convenience. There is literally no reason for this. We moved from a area where the animal services program partnered with several other organizations to strive toward a no-kill model. Through non-profit organizations, education, and a robust foster program (of which we were part), they help rehome and care for thousands of strays, elderly, and lost pets. Their model strives to give these animals every chance at a healthy life, and their concept of euthanasia fits the definition of the word. They have accountability. It's time to make every other animal control organization do the same. CounterCultureWISE is reaching out to every organization to begin the change at home.
