That being said, having seen the trailer it reminds me the fourth episode of Guillermo Del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities, The Outside.

Though 'The Substance' seems to also revolve around appearance and beauty standards, which in hindsight makes my comments on Demi Moore's appearance somewhat apropos.
