Making a Dust Collector

In this video I make a dust collector for a small shop vac. I used a 60 liter plastic bucket and replaced the lid with a stronger plywood lid and added a plywood support so the walls of the bucket would not deform as a result of the vacuum created in the bucket. The collector bucket hose was made from two separate vacuum hoses to which I added 3D printed fittings. A steel mesh water filter was attached to the underside of the lid to prevent large particles getting sucked into the vacuum cleaner. The design of the collector seems to work well as not even small dust particles get into the shop vac.
