The Antichrist was Antipope John Paul II. He publicly stated "the truth about man" is man is "the son of the living God" — antichrist means man in the place of God. John Paul II also "had the wound by a sword, and lived" (Rev. 13:14) - he was stabbed with a dagger in 1982 & the original Greek word used means sword or dagger. One of his assassins also claimed John Paul II was the antichrist.
