10 years ago today, on 11-11-2009, I played this game for the first time. This, to me, is an extraordinarily long time considering how different the world was just 10 measly years ago. I was 11 years old, had just finished played a Guitar Hero on my Nintendo DS and was interested in playing other rhythm games, but didn't bother looking. Another day, I was on YouTube looking at Touhou music videos - I'd never played a touhou game, but the IOSYS animations were my obsession of the day, alongside Windows error remixes, Synthesia black MIDIs, etc. Either way, I was watching the well-known MV for this song, Marisa Stole the Precious Thing, when I clicked on an video of someone playing the same song in osu! from the related videos. The rest is history - I downloaded the game and to my surprise, it ran playably on my computer of the day. An Intel Pentium III, a Voodoo graphics card I bought and installed myself, 512MB of RAM all running under an adorable install of Windows 2000.
The replay shown in the video is from a week or so after I became accquainted with the game. Back in the day, local replays were not saved automatically, and you had to manually check a box to save them, so take this as my first saved FC.
By the way, I know what you're thinking. *Yes*, this means that I've been involved in some multiaccounting shenanigans over the years, and you're right - that would make dong to not be my original account. All of this is in the past now, but hey, I think you'd be surprised just how many of your favourite old players are guilty of the same - everyone and their Grandmda would make multiple accounts back in the day! :)
