TwoSistas and it’s TrendingThursday with our guest, Clio Stoidis. Clio is a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach whose practice is specifically on gut health. She coaches women with IBD/chronic digestive issues to reduce their symptoms, regain renewed energy and eat without fear so they can live the life they truly desire.
Clio is a former attorney who became a health coach. It was through her own journey back to health after being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2005. After more than 7 years of trial and error, she experimented with every diet out there. She felt as though she was on a continuous cycle of flares/no flares/flares. She finally managed to break free and heal through nutrition and lifestyle approaches.
The experience with her own journey back to health of course had many twists and turns. As she explained, it was a long journey and she had to do the work to change the narrative.
Food is emotional; it’s not so much about the diet. It’s about supplying really good nutritious food that will feed the good bacteria. When we are stressed, the emotional connection to food can be a barrier of our suppressed emotions.
There are many triggers, many which are suppressed through our gut. When Clio was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease she began doing the inner work. She listened to the signs her body was giving her. Reconnect to your gut intuition and seek the medical advice of a specialist who can assist you in this regard.
(Clio gave such amazing advice! Certainly a long process to go through. Don’t settle for less than. Do the inner work; listen to the signs that you are ignoring!)
