What Are Terpenes – Uses in Cannabis

Terpenes in Cannabis is a tough topic to talk about, partly because it’s so based in chemistry….but today on Lex’s world I will try to explain what terpenes are, both in Cannabis and in the plant world. We will talk about the common ones in weed as well as what is happening in the world of breeding terpenes and/or isolating them to make marijuana products smell and taste better. I also wanted to discuss medical terpenes and the rough theory around them. As stated in the video, I should note that as of now, despite a few sporadic studies that prove that certain terpenes in certain forms can impact the body, many of the impressive claims around medical impacts of terpenes in Cannabis are…well…not yet based in good science and fall under the category of ‘theory’. But I’m an open-minded guy, so if studies can prove me wrong in the future, I’d be glad to do another episode on it.
