Hydriodic acid preparation from iodine and hydrogen sulfide

We prepare iron sulfide by reacting iron and sulfur, then use this in a gas generator to create hydrogen sulfide. The resulting gas is used together with iodine to generate hydriodic acid, which we then purify by distillation.
