Thomas Aquinas and the Thomist School #shorts

The Thomas school of thought is associated with Saint Thomas Aquinas 13th century Catholic priest, philosopher and theologian.
He combined Aristotle's philosophy and logic with Christian theology,
stating that faith and reason can work together to uncover truth.
He showed how reason can comprehend divine revelation and support Christian doctrines.

His metaphysics sees God as an unmoved mover, the primary cause of all change in the universe.
Thomism teaches the existence of a natural moral law that can be understood through human reason based on the inherent purpose and natural order of things, and it guides the pursuit of human flourishing.

It believes that general concepts called universals exist in the world
and our minds understand them by extracting them from our specific experiences using our intellect.

St. Thomas Aquinas synthesised faith and reason, theology and philosophy, while building upon the foundations of Aristotelian thought.
