From my latest (4th) play through of Elden Ring -- NG +3. Each trip through the Lands Between, I've done somewhat different builds. Strength, Dex, Str + Faith, and a Faith-focused Build on this play through. I've never played a Soulsborne type game with a focus on miracles/incantations/magic because I never really had faith (haha) it would deal enough damage. Sorceries and Incantations usually just went into storage, so this last trip through Elden Ring was interesting and different.
I am finally starting to get the timing on some of Radagon's attacks (though I'm still trying to figure out the timing for that annoying jump into the air... it seems like two timings are necessary); and using the Blasphemous Blade helps keep my health up without draining all of my flasks. Given Radagon's purpose seems to mainly be a resource suck to send you into the Elden Beast fight worse off, this seems like a fair trade off.
I hate the Elden Beast. I think the fight is terrible, mostly RNG and luck. I've improved through the many attempts I've had; but I don't think that's because the fight is well designed. Getting close to the beast is the race track, and all the garbage it spews out are the hurdles... often several at once.
And there's an attack that, as far as I can see, cannot be avoided if you're in front of him: the Waves of Gold attack. I've tried jumping, I've tried rolling... That attack basically means the end of the fight; as in "it seems you got too close to winning, so here comes the bullshit kill".
I've obviously made some mistakes -- my timing on the jump near the end was off and was enough to make me concerned I was going to get killed at the last minute again in the fight. Fortunately, my spirit ash saved my ass. It's kind of nice to pay back BS with BS.
