Living with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis for several years, Becky suddenly became uncontrollably violent. Her family didn’t know how or what to do to help her. We met Becky’s husband, Gary, at a great conference in Northern California in 2019, “Medical Cannabis 2.0” sponsored by Home Instead of Sonoma County and the Hospice Services of St. Joseph’s Hospital. Gary is a self described “religious, social, and political conservative” who was willing to go well outside his comfort zone to help the love of his life get some relief.
We also chat about how important music was to Becky. We highly recommend watching the documentary “Alive Inside” all about how important music can be with people living with dementia.
