Majdanek was the first major Nazi concentration camp liberated by the victorious Allies toward the end of World War II. Upon capture by the Soviet Union, original propaganda claimed that two million inmates were murdered in this “factory of death,” which is said to have included seven homicidal gas chambers.
However, Majdanek was captured largely intact, and a large amount of documentation and physical evidence helps to separate war-time propaganda from reality.
The original, outrageously inflated propaganda death toll has precipitously dropped over the decades, and—according to the Polish Majdanek Museum—currently stands at 78,000. In addition, that same Museum has also admitted that five of the seven originally claimed “homicidal gas chambers” have never served to murder anyone.
This documentary explains the reasons why the Majdanek officials had to drop one exaggerated death-toll claim after the other, and why they had to give up five of their cherished seven gas chambers.
It also proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that even the remaining two so-called gas chambers did not serve any homicidal purposes. In fact, they were innocuous delousing chambers designed to save lives.
