Nigel Farage MEP's interview on ITV's Peston
Nigel Farage SLAMS “THREATS” British Union could COLLAPSE because Brexit
The Brexit Party leader has slammed threats that the United Kingdom could split up as a result of Brexit, Mr Farage claimed he didn’t see “any possibility” of Scotland leaving the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northen Ireland.
On Thursday, PM May will warn Mr Hunt and his rival Boris Johnson, that one of the “first and greatest” duties of the next prime minister must be strengthening the union.
He told ITV’s Peston: “Being an independent self-governing nation is the number one. If there were parts of the United Kingdom that didn’t wish to stay part of it that would be deeply regrettable but I just don’t believe that to be the case – I really genuinely don’t believe it.”
He continued: “They said if we voted Brexit that the United Kingdom will break up. We’re three years on, we’re not seeing that in any way at all. Frankly we’ve had enough of all these threats. I don’t see any possibility of Scotland leaving the United Kingdom to join this United States of Europe that is being built, and having to sign a commitment to join the Euro. In the case of Scotland I just do not see that happening.”
The former UKIP leader said his new Brexit Party would only be willing to talk to the next Prime Minister if they would be willing to leave the European Union without a deal, he said: “We’re back to trust, aren’t we? Who on earth would I trust? If we had a new Conservative leader who said, ‘right, I’m going to face down the House of Commons and, if necessary, I will call a general election this autumn on us leaving on 31 October’ – if a Conservative leader had the guts to do that then, of course, if they wanted to come and talk to us, we would be prepared to listen. We would meet them, I guess, in the demilitarised zone because, at the moment, whenever my name or the Brexit Party name comes up, all we get is abuse and insults, so I don’t think we’re very close to a deal.”
Mr Farage strongly defended his Party’s decision to turn their backs when the European Union anthem was played in the European Parliament, Farage said he had “no regrets whatsoever”.
He said: “We were there, they were about to play the European anthem, the president of the European Parliament said ‘it is respectful to stand up for the anthems of other countries’, so basically saying the European Union is now a country. Did they ever ask anybody whether they wanted to become to be a country?”
He continued: “We didn’t shout, we didn’t make any noise, we just quietly followed the instructions we’d been given to stand up but decided to turn our backs on things.
“All through history there are traditions of people turning their backs on things – one thinks of the Canadian parliament where those campaigning for women rights turned their backs a few years ago on [Canadian Prime Minister Justin] Trudeau. These things happen.”
TO ADD:
The Conservitives under Maggie Thatcher economic plan pulled the UK out of "a for sure" bankrupcy spiral brought on by Labours social marxist policies helped by the Uniuoins from the 1950's onwards. After Margret Thatchers time in office all future Conservitives (Tory) leaders starting with the next Tory Prime Minister John Mayor up till Thresea May all walking away from the Margret Thatcher's economic capitalist plan that saved Britian from being the "sick man of Europe" decease that our nation gorged on, so much of this socialist economic policies had brough down the nation, it also spread all over the western world. Moral and values eroded by the Liberal Left.
Enter Labour Leader Tony Blair who came Britains next Prime Minister he too knew what the benefits that could pull out the nation from the spiral of strikes and deprivation we got ourselves into. He set about modeifying Labours clauses in their party constitution, and adopted Margret Thatchers economic Plan. But like we have today with "Momentum" Labour which are hard core Communists they wouldn't have any of this, mainly because the Tories / conservitives are their ideolgical enemy and so is capitalism. So Tony Blair ADDED a plus to Margrets Thatcher economic plan this was called the "Social Justice" which they accepted, (bad sign right there) this hushered in politgical correctness and multiculturalism. Something that David Carmeron the next oppostion party leader couldnt stop or tackle.
Tory Prime Minister David Cameron who reluctently called a EU referendum, he thought that he and the political elites knew a mixed economy (leaft leaning) was the right way. After all political correctness had took over the running of parliament and joining a bigger political union of Europe was the way to go. Trouble is all our political parties had handed over our democracy to Marxism EU. Thresea May who also distance herslef from the Margret Thatchers economic plan o
