Most of you are familiar with Gelitin and E-Team, the two art collectives that were living and working inside the 91st and 92nd floors of the WTC's North Tower in the lead up to the attacks, and produced some really eerie "art" freakishly foreshadowing the attacks in many ways. However, fewer know about the other art group that were part of the same artist residency program, Kevin and Jennifer McCoy, who were there two years earlier in 1999.
I do not attribute the same degree of suspicion to Airworld as I do to Gelitin and E-Team, but I wanted to provide this footage and information for you because we cover the topic a lot, and its still a really unique perspective of the WTC complex in its last years. Not to mention that there are definitely a few, shall we say, "unfortunate symbolic coincidences" associated with the Airworld project as well.
Airworld is a digital multimedia longform art project by Jennifer and Kevin McCoy that was basically a website designed to make fun of sterile corporate aesthetics in the early Internet age. This video is raw footage of me clicking through their website.
