You certainly get plenty for your £99.99 with this budget priced 1080p LED projector set from AKIYO.
Inside the box aside from the projector itself was a full sized remote control, a power cable with UK plug, AV Cable, HDMI cable, Lens cap, cleaning set, a carry case and an English language User Guide.
Build quality is clearly first rate, the plastic casing of the projector feels well made and robust. Nothing feels flimsy or about to fall off or break. The power cable is heavy duty with a standard UK plug. The User Guide is large, well written and tells or you more or less all you need to know. The infrared remote control is full-sized with proper physical clicky buttons rather than the credit card sized soft-touch remotes too often supplied. The main control buttons can also be found on the top of the projector itself. It has all the usual ports and connections: HDMI, x 2 USB, audio out and AV.
This projector has some high features: Native Resolution: 1920 x 1080 with lower resolution also supported. The contrast ratio is an impressive 3000:1, Brightness a remarkable 7000 Lumens, The best projection distance is 1.35 - 2.4m to give an image size of 45 to 80 inches. Aspects ratios of 16:9, 4.3, Auto are supported. Focus and keystone correction (±15°) are manual and operated from the control panel on the projector.
To operate you can use the supplied remote control, or the button set found on top of the projector itself. I use it with an Amazon Firestick connected to the HDMI port but external drives and other devices can be connected via USB. The projector generates an internal wifi hotspot which allows tablets and smartphones to connect wirelessly for video and audio streaming. The Projector can also connect to your home wifi network for streaming and firmware updates.
I found it gave a good, bright, well-saturated image at the maximum recommended throw distance of 2.4m with a stable focus and good keystone stability when used in a darkened room. There are four operating modes are available through the settings panel to give a choice of colour saturation and contrast. The image can also be zoomed in and out from the handset to get the best picture size. Audio quality was good but for outside use an external speaker may be needed.
The budget range price gets you some high-end features but if you are after a projector for professional use then keep on looking. The light output is fine for home use but works best in a darkened or semi-darkened room. The image quality is clear and sharp without fringing and it holds focus well. The colours are good but less saturated than you would find on a pro level projector. The native 1080p resolution will be enough for all HD and below image sources but not 4K. This means it will work with most current devices and the wide range of inputs including smartphone mirroring
