IRELAND - Inquest of Sally Maaz (17) - Died in Mayo General Hospital

We attended the most recent hearing relating to the inquest of Sally Maaz on Tuesday, 22nd June in Swinford, County Mayo. Sally Maaz died in Mayo University Hospital after she was transferred from the Emergency Department to the Covid Ward – even though she had tested negative for Covid and suffered from a congenital heart defect.
In this video we outline some of the most serious concerns surrounding her death.
Patrick O’Connor is the Coroner for County Mayo and responsible for the inquest into Sally Maaz’s death. His legal duty as Coroner is to determine the cause and circumstances of Sally’s untimely death.
However Mr O’Connor has repeatedly stated (with support from Callan Tansey solicitors) that his purpose in conducting Covid inquests in County Mayo is to “allay rumours and suspicions” about the Covid situation at Mayo University Hospital.
The Coroner, however, must establish the truth – whether the truth allays or confirms the concerns of the public.
This week on RTE Primetime whistle-blowers revealed the carnage behind closed doors at nursing homes in Cork and Clare. These revelations included – a member of staff being told not to answer the bell of a resident in distress, 80% of staff walking out on residents, barred doors, patients left for hours unattended etc.
We must know the truth about what is happening in our hospitals and nursing homes around the country.
