DPT: Vaccine Roulette by Lea Thompson

This Emmy Award winning documentary produced by Lea Thompson and WRC-TV in Washington DC April 1982 was the kick-starter for the anti-vaccination movement worldwide. The trippel DPT (Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus) vaccines developed seizures and permanent brain damage in many of the children who took those shots. The documentary decreased vaccination rates and increased lawsuits against the vaccine manufacturers. The litigations nearly destroyed the American vaccine manufacturing industry and lead to the creation of the NCVIA - National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act in 1986 signed into motion by President Ronald Reagan. This NCVIA Act became a no-fault system established by the US federal government where claims of harm from vaccines could not be filed against Big Pharma.
