In this video I go over a brief introduction to radioactive decay and show how the decay process follows the same differential equation for exponential growth and decay that I had covered in my earlier video. It is proven experimentally that the relative rate of radioactive decay is constant, thus the absolute decay rate is proportional to the mass of the substance being decayed. I also go over a few definitions on radiation, electromagnetic waves, and ionization to better illustrate the phenomenon of radioactive materials.
