One reason the left is able to exercise so much tyrannical control over your life is that they’ve contracted it out to the corporate sector. Instead of having the government censor your speech, they just have a few powerful tech corporations vanish you from the Internet, and claim this is all the work of “private businesses.” Banks and credit cards shut down your accounts. Airlines or lodging companies like AirB&B can ban you for life. The response of clueless idiots in Washington is that they’re all private companies, so if they want to collude to make it impossible for you to exercise basic American rights, then too bad. Nothing you can do. Have you considered starting your own business, creating your own financial sector, starting your own country, perhaps?

But it may be that building our own parallel infrastructure, our own parallel society is our only option. Andrew Torba knows all about the challenges of that. He’s the co-founder of Gab, a free-speech alternative to Twitter. Ever since Gab came into existence the left has been absolutely berserk about it, and they’ve done everything they can to destroy it for good. And so far, they’ve failed. Maybe there are some lessons we can draw from this, not just for social media but for a whole lot of other businesses. We know from Gab, and Rumble, and GiveSendGo, and a lot of other websites that there is a real and massive market out there for alternatives to the left’s hegemony. But the issue is getting them off the ground and keeping them alive when they are under constant siege from the powers that dominate life in this country which is growing less free with every passing day.
