Welcome back to the show! In this week's episode, we start off by taking a look at the brilliant comedic genius of Stephen Crowder as he triggers the libs by poo-pooing Labor Day...even though it wasn't a day that workers care about historically...in fact it was created to obfuscate the original holiday celebrating the labor struggles of the early industrial United States including the Haymarket affair, an incident that took place on May the 4th (Mayday) where workers protesting for an 8 hour work day were assaulted by police. Following the affair, prominent members of the anarchist movement were scapegoated and imprisoned...4 were hanged and 1 committed suicide.
Next we move on to discuss restrictions put in place by the Chinese government on minors playing online games. The law seems to be directed at companies specifically, not at parents.
We talk about the Gavin Newsom recall election, and in particular, the (false) voter fraud claims being circulated ahead of the vote. In this context, we get into a bit of a discussion about direct democracy in lieu of our upcoming discussion.
We touch on SB8 and the other Texas laws and point out the speed at which the Supreme Court is handing down these decisions in this "shadow docket" process.
In the second half of the show we continue our discussion of economics as we sus out the differences in our own ideologies with regards to the economic and political system we would like to see and the policies that could help us get there.
Thanks for watching and have an excellent rest of your week.
