This new game controller from Olycism is designed for use with the PUBG but in fact, be used for more general gaming use with a wide range of apps.
The Game Controller arrived packaged in a colourful and attractive box themed to the Playerunknown Battlegrounds game. Apart from the box top, all the other information on the box is entirely in Chinese and this product has clearly been taken directly from the domestic Chinese market.
In the box can be found the Game Controller itself, a pair of finger sleeves, a USB to micro-USB charging cable and a pair of spare trigger button sleeves. No instructions are included either in English or Chinese.
The device consists of an ABS plastic phone holder with an adjustable grip for phones between 4.7 to 6.5 inches in size. On the underside of the holder is cooling fan with an integral 450mAh rechargeable battery. Turning the device over reveals the tiny On/Off switch and the micro-USB battery charging port. There is no electrical connection between the phone and the Game Controller. There are two shaped hand grips on either side of the phone holder with next to them metal trigger levers linked to the two in-game button pushes sited above the screen. The idea is that pulling on the triggers will then physically press the on-screen buttons in the PUBG game. When the Game Controller is used with other games these two mechanical buttons and up locked up and away from the screen to avoid obscuring the action. The whole mechanism for these buttons is of metal and it seems very robust and reliable. The package includes a pair of spare screen protecting button sleeves, should the originals get lost. Included two are a pair of soft elasticated thumb covers which can be worn to make gameplay smoother and more enjoyable.
For the current Amazon price of £14.99, this would be an excellent buy for serious PUBG gamers and in fact, the device is just as useful for any phone gamer as the device makes holding and manipulating the phone during gaming much easier and the built-in fact does a good job in preventing the phone overheating.
