The Path of the Crone

The crone is an archetype for the wise old woman, someone who was once highly revered and is now largely forgotten. Very few true crones exist anymore. This video is about a pathway for the women whose children have grown up and left home, whose husbands pass away before them, or those who never find a husband or have children. Where do women go once they reach this stage of life? What pathway is left to them? Modern society offers women very little guidance in this regard and once her physical beauty fades and her children no longer need her, she is often left feeling invisible and useless. This need not be the case, as the archetype of the crone offers a fulfilling pathway for women who have come to that stage of life.

Topics addressed include the societal factors leading to the lack of crones, the symbolism of the crone, anima/animus integration, and the feminine hero's journey with a cameo appearance by my cat!
