Gao Chengyong, 54, murdered 11 women and girls between 1988 and 2002 in Gansu province and the neighbouring Inner Mongolia region. he father-of-two was finally arrested at the grocery store he ran with his wife in the city of Baiyin, Gansu, in 2016. Among his victims were an eight-year-old girl and others had their reproductive organs removed.
In March last year he was convicted of intentional homicide, rape, dishonouring corpses and robbery by a court in Baiyin and sentenced to death.
