King David wrote in his song a prophetic message of the Messiah being given vinegar to drink at His death:
Psalm 69:21-23 KJV — They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
Since the nation of Israel hated and despised their own Messiah Yeshua Jesus, and gave Him to the Romans to be crucified, the nation of Israel was destroyed in 70AD and their eyes darkened until the fullness of the Gentiles and the start of Daniel's 70th Week.
Daniel 9:26 KJV — And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Daniel's 69th Week ended when Yeshua Jesus was crucified 2000 years ago, and we have been in the 69th-70th Week Gap Period until the fullness of the gentiles. Then Daniel's 70th Week will begin, and Israel's blindness will be lifted and they will know Him whom they pierced. It will be the final 7 years of tribulation, when the Two Witnesses will appear in Jerusalem (Revelation 11) and a remnant of Israel will be saved and kept safe until Messiah returns from Heaven (Zechariah 12-14) to reign and rule from Jerusalem on the Throne of David.
Romans 11:8-11 KJV — (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
Romans 11:25-27 KJV — For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
