H'man - this is an old one, but I think it's still good, since Nintendo-jisan seems completely indifferent to the desire for a simple Dpad-Joycon.
By now, I just use the Hori Split-pad Pro when I'm in portable mode - but the 1st party Joycons are still 100% and maybe worth a mod.
