Three years ago I was in the middle of my foundation degree course. In my spare time I played online games such as Roblox, agario and slitherio and still do to a lesser extent. I chose to go my own way after hearing horror stories of freshers having their lives destroyed because of false allegations and the biasness of the UK state, law and society towards the fair sex. Because of the mundaneness of news sources like the BBC or CNN, CNN which now I have lost all respect for, I chose at the time to consume media from a foreign news outlet Russia Today. I had a lot of free time in my foundation degree, so I spent a lot of time on this online gaming platform Roblox. A lot of headlines were coming out about the Snowdon leaks and how the USA NSA and its counterpart GCHQ collected huge amounts of online information on people’s online activities. I joined a server on Roblox one night and saw another user’s avatar with a donut shirt and an inquisitive face. This attire was unusual for a user’s avatar and I came to this server quite frequently. I said in chat “OMG its GCHQ” because the donut looked like there building in Chelterham. The avatar halted and became unresponsive. My online and real life started to turn spooky after that and I learnt how deep the rabbit hole really went. Onetime on I was asked if the first two letters of my username stood for lieutenant and I wilfully played on this and said “yes”, it wasn’t true, but I rationed they asked me this because they associated me with consuming news content from Russia Today. This was how I was labelled as a Russian sympathizer in their eyes and how I would be treated. Every server I joined on Roblox they were there, not explicitly but hidden, they revealed then selves with taunting cues in their avatar clothing., same when I joined agario or slitherio. Sure, I can accept if you think I became schizophrenic as I kept myself to myself but carry on listening. I sort of built a relationship with my captives or cohabiters. I played on them and they played on me. Initially is was scary, these people wielded such power but there was nothing I could do about it and it became the highlight of my day. As I transitioned into my first year of my main degree in Computer Science things started to happen in my real life, but I don’t wish to discuss it. In the second year I discovered things you would not believe. Imagine talking to yourself inside you head without moving your lips, you join a game server and the avatars names or what they say in chat is what you have just said only inside your head. I reasoned they were Angels. Angels just like you or me in human skin with telepathic powers.
