The Truth About The SSPX, SSPX-MC & Similar "Traditionalist" Groups
There are various inconsistencies with the "recognize & resist" position of groups like the SSPX, SSPX-MC, etc. They believe people can be saved in false religions & recognize Vatican II heretics like Francis as "Pope" — yet they claim his church isn't Catholic, which is one of many contradictions. The true position is to reject Francis as an Antipope & heretic as well as his fake, non-Catholic counterchurch.
Sadly, the SSPX, SSPV, CMRI & other similar groups are heretical, even if they offer a traditional Latin Mass. Here's an important video that goes over some of the issues with those groups & Archbishop Lefebvre as well. The "baptism of desire" heresy is very prevalent among the SSPX & the other similar groups, which notoriously impose their heresy. SSPX priests literally believe people can be saved in false religions, like Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, etc.
SSPX priests believe Muslims, Jews & Hindus can go to Heaven, as shown plainly from their own quotes in this video. They're not Catholic.
Pope Pius IX, Syllabus of Modern Errors, Dec. 8, 1846 - Prop. 16: "Man may, in the observance of any religion whatever, find the way of eternal salvation, and arrive at eternal salvation." - Condemned.
Catholics should not attend their services if the priest holds these heresies (nearly all SSPX priests, if not all, are heretical) as church dogma teaches to not pray with heretics (attending a Mass involves prayer with others).
Council of Laodicea, Canon 9 (A.D. 363-364): “The members of the Church are not allowed to meet... any of the heretics, for prayer or service; but such as so do, if they be communicants, shall be excommunicated for a time; but if they repent and confess that they have sinned they shall be received.”
Pope Pius XI, Mortalium animos, (06/01/1928): “So, Venerable Brethren, it is clear why this Apostolic See has never allowed its subjects to take part in the assemblies of non-Catholics.”
