Arcane (titled onscreen as Arcane: League of Legends) is a 2021 adult animated streaming television series. It is set in the League of Legends universe.The series was announced at the League of Legends 10th anniversary celebration. It was produced by French animation studio Fortiche under the supervision of Riot Games. Set in the past relative to the League of Legends universe, Arcane serves as a prequel to the game and retells the origin stories of several characters from Piltover and Zaun. Like the game on which it is based, Arcane is aimed at a "16+" audience. Many news outlets have also noted that the show appeals to both casual viewers who have never played League and to longtime fans of the game.
