Here is a true horror story from Canada where a quiet neighborhood is visited by some strange children. The children appear to be up to no good, making mischief and almost enticing an old man to leave his house to confront them.

What did they want? Where did they come from? We don't know, but the old man reported their eyes being like black voids, both creepy and simultaneously hypnotizing.
