BRIGANTI DI TERRA D'OTRANTO - "Klama" with lyrics (Andra mu pai-Cry)-Griko Music-TARANTA NIGHTS 2

"Klama" was written by author/composer Franco Corlianò from Salento (Italy); here we can listen to the amazing Briganti di Terra d'Otranto recording (included in Cds "Tirajentu" and "TARANTA NIGHTS Vol. 2 - both available on ITunes). "Klama" is a very beautiful and sad Griko song (the ancient Greek language still spoken in Southern Italy) and talks about a woman's crying for his husband who emigrated abroad to seek fortune. The Italian lyrics are shown on the screen player (below you can read it in Griko and Greek). Klama is one of several Briganti "social songs", in which they deal with job (canti di lavoro), freedom (canti di liberta'), emigration (canzoni dell'emigrazione) up to love (canzoni d'amore). With a repertoire including Pizzica Salentina, Taranta, Stornelli, Tarantella salentina, etc., Briganti di Terra d'Otranto are one of foremost groups of Salento's Music Wave that is taking Italy by storm (Musica Salentina).
