BIO:
In 2002 Penny Wittbrodt graduated from Eastern KY University School of Nursing. She spent much of her career working in critical care and ventilator units. She also served her community as a volunteer nurse at a free community health clinic. There, she was blessed to work with patients who would have otherwise been without medical care.

Penny went on to expand her skillset as a home health nurse. That is where she discovered her love for teaching. Wanting to expand her teaching skills, she accepted adjunct professor positions at three area technical colleges. There, she taught, pharmacology, medical terminology, dosage calculation, and pathophysiology.

Expanding on her teaching and nursing skills, she accepted a summer charge nurse position at Camp Friendship in Annandale MN. There, she provided leadership, training, and medical oversight to student nurses charged with caring for medically fragile campers. In 2012, Penny was assaulted by a patient and suffered a career-ending injury. That life change though difficult, gave her the opportunity to develop her love for research and writing.

Penny is now retired and living in KY where she provides health coaching and education on how to support the immune system and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
