Symphony No. 6 in D minor, Op. 104 by Jean Sibelius

Sibelius completed this symphony in 1923 with the premiere performance being given in February the same year in Helsinki. Melodic concepts found in the personal notebook of Sibelius from 1914 were later incorporated into the symphony, showing the total time composing this piece to be almost 10 years. Sibelius dedicated this work to fellow composer Wilhelm Stenhammer.

This symphony is comprised of four movements:
I. Allegro molto moderato
II. Allegretto moderato
III. Poco vivace
IV. Allegro molto
