I never would have thought that my artistic journey would lead me to making a film like this. But due to the huge problem I have observed firsthand the last few years I believe that Xanax use among young people is not being adequately addressed. Xanax is different the opioids, it's a class of drug known as Benzos that come with their own set of dangers and are extremely addictive. These drugs appeal to people with anxiety as they essentially give you a break from whatever negative emotions you may be feeling, however this comes at a price as the drugs are addictive and have very real health consequences. I send out my prayers and condolences to anyone who has been affected by or cares about someone that has been affected by Xanax.
I feel that it’s important to establish that I made this film by myself. I had some great aid along the way from people mentioned in the credits but I never asked for funding from anyone or took up anymore of people’s time then I needed to. I made this film because I want people to understand why they should stay away from Xanax and other drugs for that matter. I prefer to use my talents to make content of any kind that is entertaining to people and brings the viewer/listener joy and that’s what I want to do going forward, but out of necessity I wrote this script last September and was able to finally get this film put together. Being able to make video content is a huge blessing and being talented in the field is not something I take lightly. If you are able to make something that many people view and are influenced by you have a responsibility to not lead them to things that can hurt them or to push false information. I have great respect for anyone that spends their time doing something creative regardless of if they are talented or not and my criticisms in this film of other artists are not me attacking anyone but rather me pointing out a problematic pattern that is causing harm to a lot of people. For example, I love Kanye’s music and overall message but that doesn’t stop me from thinking that him referencing xans in his music is unnecessary and irresponsible.
-Always remember that you can lie to yourself-
I think I shouldn't have used kanye's song because the way he referenced xans didn't glorify them and made the correlation with doing xans being something that ruined plans because of the effects they have on you. I also figured out recently that the director of two of the movies referenced is the same, I'm not sure what I think about that one
