Somewhere around 2010, the Police was investigating the rape and torture of 160 (number of alleged victims in specifically Haut de la Garenne varies from one source to the other) children over a 30 year period, at Haut de la Garenne, a school and children's home on the Jersey Island of the Channel Islands, located between France and England.
The remains and skulls of children have been found. The police also discovered the remains of a "home-made" trapdoor above the cellar in the former children's home. It leads to a dungeon where a bolted-down bath and shackles have been found, nicknamed the Jersey's chamber of horrors.
Deputy chief police officer Lenny Harper, who lead the investigation, said the latest find matched the descriptions of a trap-door given to him by several of the survivors.
Allegations were also made that former victims were approached upon news of the Police investigation opening, to be intimidated into shutting up.
Jimmy Saville was a regular visitor of the Haut de la Garenne children's home during the 60's.
