It's all designed to make profits, nothing else. Everything has to be blamed on 'mental illness' caused by 'chemical imbalance' so they can sell you that little pill that's supposed to restore that chemical imbalance for you.
==================
You eat too much it's a disease, an addiction.
You smoke too much it's a disease.
You're too unhappy it's a disaease.
If you're too thin it's a disease.
If you're too fat it's a disease.
You have too little sex it's a disease.
You have too much sex it's a disease.
Nothing is based on free will, to teach you basic behavioural control. It's all about chemicals, chemicals that someone wants to sell you.
No self-discipline, no self-control - the argument that people have a chemical imbalance meshes well with the idea that you give a drug which restores the balance.
It's a fable, a story, a mythology.
That's the baseline for which this quackery operates to make profits.
The child doesn't perform they way he should, or behaves the way he should, he is not responsible. Some chemicals will give him that balance, it's claimed.
This is a mental illness, that is a mental illness - basic self-control, self-discipline, and accountability is pushed aside to fill people with the idea buying a pill and blaming self-created problems on some bogus medical condition will resolve it all.
The internal contradiction in these very concepts is to total they don't stand up to any scrutiny. Nobody has yet measured, demonstrated or created a test to show that somebody has a chemical imbalance in their brain.... It's not science or medicine. It's quackery.
Behaviour control is not science, not medicine.
