There is one minor correction in relation to Shimshon’s background. Shimshon only worked in marine and space science labs at the university. He has worked in business oriented software development since then. A big thanks to Shimshon for planning and then filming Crete a whopping 616 miles away! Amazing! Could it be clouds? Absolutely, but like I said: "Possible but not probable." First, the intention was to film that exact event - Crete in front of the setting sun at that exact time and location. Second, it closely matches Google Maps with the correct angle. That's exactly why I think they're not clouds.

I meant to record in 1080i like my camera is capable of. Somehow I got stuck with a 640p video. The version you see here is down-sampled from that to 480p. Next time will be better.

The platform is either Tamar or Mari-B, about 25km from my vantage point. Public sources refer to two nearby platforms. I only saw one.
