This is not the first Ebitcam IP camera I have used. I also have the 720p version of this camera which is the same in every respect but has a lower resolution and price than this £47.99 1080p model.
Inside the nicely designed and attractive product box was the camera itself, wall/ceiling mount, screw kit for the mount, USB power adapter with UK plug, USB to micro-USB power cable, Ethernet cable and a Quick Install Guide. No micro SD card is included.
It has a rather cheap looking glossy white plastic finish but nevertheless, the build quality seems good. On the front is the lens with Night Vision infrared LEDs and coloured LEDs to show Wifi and network status and the microphone hole. On the rear is the Ethernet port, TF card slot, reset button, and micro-USB power in port.
The first thing to do is to download and install the EbitCam app for Android or iOS, I tested using the Android app. You have to register the app for use but doing so is free and no email confirmation is needed.
I usually disregard the installation instructions and connect using an ethernet cable and then just use a web browser to configure the camera from the LAN IP address web interface. Although it connected to the network and was assigned an IP number from my router I was unable to connect to the User Interface and in fact, I suspect it does not have one. I need not have bothered as connecting using the app could not have been more simple and was probably quicker than my old time method. After installing and registering the app and plugging in the camera follow the in-app instructions to add a new camera. From within the app, you can either scan the barcode on the camera base or manually input the camera number. This done you are then prompted to input your wifi details and password which is sent to the camera. The camera will then automatically connect to your home wifi network. You can also plug the camera into the router using an Ethernet cable and the app will recognise it.
