NO, he did not order me to not touch my head nor had us wear plastic gloves BECAUSE the food was already covered. He was just making shit up to play asshole. My WW2 "Greatest Generation" parents failed to warn me of petty assholes like him instead deluded that national existential emergency, co-operative America would continue to exist after the war.
It didn't.
As I shivered separating bacon, my prison guard--a Lance Corporal--was playing "Another Brick in the Wall" on his boom box while making out with his girl friend. Was he the same E4 Lance Coolie months later who left us and our gear on the drill deck for several hours later when reporting in for Infantry Training School where I had to take charge of the group and report us in to the head shed?

I would make my men come in at 0800 in COMBAT GEAR with the option to skip the DFAC and turn them loose at 1700 to go HOME to eat and get away from the bureaucracy--leaving only lunch time DFAC health/time waste.
