Film adaption of Clive (Hellraiser) Barker short story from 'Books of Blood'.
Plot:
Writer Howard Hallenbeck is spending his vacation in the countryside of Ireland with his family, researching ancient local legends and myths for his book. Meanwhile, a farmer is trying to remove an large old pillar-stone from his field and accidentally unleashes a 2000 year old Pagan god-monster 'Rawhead Rex' who eats children and begins a terror-spree of carnage and destruction across the Irish countryside.
Not as good as the short story, but became a cult classic just the same.
