Error of Juvenilism

The novel, Lord of the Flies, clearly shows how society degenerates into evil when the young attempt to govern. Yet today our society is idolizing the youth, even giving them a ‘pulpit.’ In this crazy revolutionary world in which we live, everything is turned upside down; we are now told that the young should lead, guide, and teach the old. The immature are somehow expected to provide the example for the mature. This error of juvenilism stems from the error of evolution, which falsely asserts that the old must pass in favor of the new. Yet note how Sacred Scripture refers to the leading of the youth as a curse! For the youth become arrogant instruments (puppets) of the revolution and all suffer from the ensuing increased chaos.
